Filippatos came with an old logo they loved, so I updated it to a vector file and gave it a bit of a polish. All the rest of the design was left up to me — fonts, colors, website design, and direction for photography. Another unique request they had was to create custom images for each person to use as their email signature. The colors and website design garnered instant approval, they had only a few minor changes like swapping out headshots. They let me know the final website design far exceeded their expectations.

The

Problem

The Filippatos law firm was looking to write a new page in their company's history, highlighted by a new website. The original founder, Parisis G. Filippatos, would be retiring in a few years. Previously, their website was entirely focused on him. They wanted the firm to clearly be a team rather than an individual, and they needed a more defined brand that encompassed their values of client compassion and open communication.

The

Process

We started the project with thorough brand discovery calls. After determining they needed new headshots, I put together a photo guide and suggested photographers in their area. Our content team and I brainstormed detailed brand values, mission, and voice which would guide both the content writing and visual design.

The

Solution

They loved their old logo of a sketched court house, so I recreated the pixelated png as a vector in Illustrator and made a few minor updates. Colors, fonts and other design choices were left up to me, choices guided by their brand guide, accessibility best practices, and of course, an eye for design. Upon seeing the website mockups, they said the design far exceeded their expectations. There were a few roadbumps in getting the site launched, like the photographer not sending back photos for awhile, but both they and I were very pleased with the final site.
